It's Thursday night, I'm taking off Saturday morning. Here in Petaluma the weather was fairly grim today so I haven't been too motivated to prepare but I did a bit of organizing and started some packing. I also haven't secured a place to stay for my first stop (Los Angeles area) but I'm just waiting to hear back from a couple friends down there so I'm not too worried.
I was planning on riding down the coast to LA but after checking some weather reports it looks like the coast is going to be pretty wet over the weekend. I'm not afraid of a little rain but combined with the added ride time I think it would wear me out too fast so I'm going to stick to interstate 5.
I still have a few things I need to gather for my trip tomorrow so I've made a little list for myself; Batteries, LED light bulb for my mag lite, registration card for my bike, some sandals, pay a bill, and enable international calls on my cell phone. I'm sure I'll remember the rest of the stuff I need half way to LA.
I'm going to grab some dinner and go watch a friends band play downtown tonight, I'll post up again when I get everything ready to go tomorrow.
